I am fascinated with the endless visual patterns and textures

created by the abundance of life on earth. I am curious how

they relate to the construction and cohesion of our tiny

planet and its place within this enormous universe we inhabit.

My works are merely windows into the infinite combinations of

those visual patterns and textures.

Creating order from chaos

I approach my art with a snapshot in mind. I unleash a

chaotic frenzy of cutting and placing that builds and shapes

as it progresses. The pieces of paper find their places along

side or opposing one another. In all of the works there is

chaos that is eventually tamed by order. A feeling of

something familiar appears in the form and I shape it until it

feels done. When the burning begins it is another stage of

development. The creative destruction of those forms by

literally burning them away creates new ones. The piece is

reborn and I am again looking for the familiar.
